Hailey is an associate with the firm’s litigation and dispute resolution group. She is developing a broad corporate and commercial litigation practice. Hailey summered and articled with Foglers, and re-joined the firm as an associate after working at a boutique litigation and land development firm in Toronto.
Hailey received her Juris Doctor from the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University, where she served as the President of the Queen’s Law Cancer Society and the Communications Director for Juris Diction, the law school’s student-run newspaper.
Prior to entering law school, Hailey earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from McGill University. She has previous experience in commercial real estate, employment, and insurance defence law at boutique firms in Toronto and in her hometown of Kingston, Ontario.

Recent news reports from the Rogers family litigation provide an example of the risks of conflicts of interest in joint retainers.
Not all situations will be as headline-grabbing as the Ontario Superior Court Application by three Rogers family members seeking to prevent a Bay Street law firm from acting, but the story serves as a good reminder of the procedures in creating and carrying out the joint retainer.
